The port of Cherbourg is situated at the northern tip of the Cherbourg Peninsula, a leading ferry port on the Western Channel. It is well-known for its high standard and reliability of its services. There are three companies operating ferries from the port of Cherbourg: Brittany Ferries, Irish Ferries, and Celtic Link.
Brittany Ferries offers a daily crossing between Cherbourg and Poole in England. The trip on conventional ferries takes 4 hours, 15 minutes, while travelling on Fastcraft takes 2 hours, 15 minutes.
Irish Ferries provides three sailings a week between Cherbourg and Rosslare, Ireland. The journey takes 17 hours.
The new Celtic Link also operates a link between Cherbourg and Rosslare three times a week with a journey time of 18 hours, 30 minutes.
